CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Basics | EASE IN
Suitable for beginners and those who want something simpler, this is a simple class with lots of demonstrations so you can understand how to practice in a way that supports your progress whilst keeping you safe.
Learn about breathing practices, modified sun salutations, basic moves to switch on core strength, correct alignment in each pose to stretch, strengthen and free up stuckness.
Cultivate an inner attentiveness that allows self exploration and build your yoga practice on solid foundations by learning and re-affirming the basics, this class will prepare you for the Slow Flow and Rise N Shine classes.
Rise N Shine
A fully balanced invigorating class which includes asana warm-up, setting of intention, surya namaskar, standing poses, backbends, forward bends, twists, inversions, pranayama and relaxation.
Whether you’re a beginner or a yogi, this class is for you. The sequence will vary depending on the weather, season and moon cycle. Flow brings playfulness to your practice.
Slow Flow | DIVE IN
After the essential warm up that includes breath work and poses to wake up core, spine and the bigger muscles you will be guided slowly and mindfully through sun salutations. Variations are offered to work you at the edge of your comfort zone, not past it. After linking movement to breath in the slow flow, longer holds in poses are introduced to build heat and stamina. Options and time is given to find your ‘sweet spot’; the perfect version of each pose (modified or advanced) for you.
When suitably prepared, your body and mind are ready to go deeper in the final cool down section of the class. With stretches and rest down time, your mind is ready to let go. Each class will have a theme eg. Hip openers, Inversions, Centering, Being kind to yourself.
Yin | IN DEEP
Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative practice that invites you to pause and turn inward. Unlike more dynamic styles, it focuses on long-held, passive postures — often supported with props such as bolsters, blocks, and blankets — to gently target the deeper layers of the body, including the fascia and joints.
The intention of Yin Yoga is to move into a shape and welcome stillness into both body and mind. By softening into each posture and remaining for several minutes, we create space to release tension, restore balance, and cultivate presence. This practice teaches us to surrender, to be with what is, and to find comfort in the quiet moments we often overlook in daily life.
Benefits of Yin Yoga
Improves flexibility and mobility through deep and gentle stretches that open up joints and connective tissue
Encourages relaxation and reduces stress by activating the body’s rest mode
Helps slowing down as it offers a moment to pause and to step back from a busy lifestyle
Cultivates mindfulness through slow, intentional poses that foster inner awareness
Yin Yoga is ultimately a practice of letting go — a gentle reminder that we don’t always have to strive or do more. Instead, we can rest, soften, and simply be.
Beginner | ESSENTIALS
This rolling 6-week Beginner series is designed to teach (or remind) you of the foundations of your yoga practice. Over 6 weeks, you will learn how to breathe deeply and thoroughly into your core body; You’ll learn about active hands and feet, strengthening and relaxing your shoulders and neck; the how and why of sun salutations; the correct way to practice foundational poses such as downward facing dog and the Warriors, twists, inversions and backbends.
Even if you already have a practice, Beginner Essentials will offer you a deeper understanding of the Asanas and guide you forward in your practice. You’ll feel more comfortable, then taking this knowledge into other classes, rather than feeling like you’re trying to follow along and keep up.
The Beginner Essentials Series is offered as a course that is run periodically through out the year. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in the Course. Please register your interest through our ‘Contact’ page.
